Mink Peeters (Real Madrid) is joining Lleida Esportiu this season

Mink Peeters, the 20-year-old offensive midfielder of Real Madrid, will be playing this season on loan basis for Club Lleida Esportiu in the Spanish Segunda B. The Lérida club plays in a strong competition with, among others, FC Barcelona B, FC Villarreal B, FC Valencia B and Español B. Real Madrid therefore considers the Catalan club to be the ideal spot for Mink to boost his career.

In 2014, Mink Peeters made the switch from the Ajax Amsterdam youth to Real Madrid, where he joined Juvenil A at the age of 16. Partly because of some long-term injuries, he was unable to live up to the high expectations at the time, and the first team of Real unfortunately remained out of sight.

Nevertheless, Mink managed to regain his place in the highest youth team of Real and in August 2017 his contract with the Madrid club was extended until mid 2020; with this extension Real Madrid indicated that it still has a lot of confidence in the Dutch youth international. After an intermezzo in the Netherlands (VVV Venlo, Almere City FC) which resulted in a disappointment, Real decided to bring Mink back to Spain.

It is now of vital importance to Mink that he is given time to play in order to build up a rhythm and show his qualities. His ultimate goal remains unchanged to eventually return to Real Madrid.
